NET CONTROL PROCEDURE

1.  Open the net:  "CERT radio  this is (your call).  This is a Directed Net. Over."

     (A directed net means no station can call except as directed by Net Control.)

     (Continue until all stations have checked in. Keep a time log of stations checking in and out.)


2.  Take traffic listings and acknowledge stations:  "(calling stations) this is (your call). roger, out.",


3.  Announce listed traffic:  "CERT radio the following traffic is listed: (repeat listed traffic) 

     Are there any stations that can accept this traffic?  Over."


4.  Ask that traffic be transferred:  (Station with traffic) call (station taking traffic) and pass your traffic.  Out.  (Stations pass traffic, then return control of the net to Net Control)


5.  Establish a "Free Net":   "CERT radio, this is (your call).  This is a free net. Out."  (Any station may contact any other station in a free net.  Contacts to be kept under 5 minutes, or request stations move to another frequency)

     (Repeat directed net every ten minutes.  Acknowledge stations, then state:) 

     "CERT radio, this will continue to be a free net.  Out."


6.  Close net:  "All stations, this is (your call) this net is closed down.  Out."

     (The net is closed and the frequency is released.)
